Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Who We Are
Goldseekers Canoe Outfitting & Wilderness Expeditions operated by Albert & Kelly Rogalinski, was established in 1992.   We are the longest operating Canoe Dedicated Outfitter in Red Lake.  Canoeing is our only business - we are paddlers first and foremost so you know you’re not just a marketing afterthought to add to the bottom line of a fly-in fishing camp.  We are dedicated to wilderness paddlers seeking solitude and adventure, whether its your first time in a canoe on one of our guide led expeditions or highly experienced backcountry adventurer journeying through this expansive boreal forest on your own.
Our family has been part of this far northern community for over 25 years. We have an intimate knowledge and a love for this land and its people that can only be developed by living here year round and taking the time to learn of them. Let us guide you through our back yard.  You will not be disappointed.

Why Do Nearly 70% of Woodland Caribou Parks Outfitted Visitors Select Goldseekers As Their Canoe & Expedition Outfitter?

Experience - Experience – there is no substitute for it.  Living in this neck of the woods for nearly 25 years, we know this country and its secrets, which we share willingly with our guests. We’re paddlers first and foremost; you will find that in our commitment to providing our guests with the best possible canoeing/kayaking experience is unsurpassed.

Ethics - We believe that we are stewards of this land, not consumers, as such we strive to have a minimal impact on the land and we ask our guests to practice the same.

Honesty - This is a huge area we service and if we don’t know something we will tell you and then do our very best to find out. - We won’t try to supply you with services you don’t need. - Our information and prices are accurate; our ultra-light Kevlar canoes are just that, ultra-light Kevlar not Duralite or fiberglass canoes that are charged out to you at Kevlar rates.

Equipment - After years of paddling and outfitting we have selected top quality equipment that we know is some of the best in the business. It will allow you to enjoy the wilderness without fear of undue equipment failure.

Safety - Your safe and enjoyable wilderness experience is our primary concern. We will advise you of hazards of which we are aware, help you select a route suitable to your skills and take the time to orient our guests in wilderness safety, skills and ethics. Our guides are ORCA certified and trained in wilderness first aid. They are fully capable of dealing with all situations as they arise and should there be a need to end an expedition early they are equipped with satellite phones to call for pick up.

Flight into the park

Location - Our base of operations is in the historic gold rush town of Red Lake. Located at the end of the most northwestern paved road in Ontario, we are situated in an ideal location from which to launch a canoe/kayak expedition into the vast multi million-acre wilderness of Northwest Ontario.  It would be our pleasure to introduce you to this land.

1) Woodland Caribou Provincial Park (WCPP) is our primary flat-water destination.  Located west of Red Lake on the Ontario/Manitoba border, WCPP is a pristine 1.2 million-acre wilderness explored by less than 1000 paddlers per season on average. Combined with Manitoba's Atikaki Wilderness, this is an area of over 2.2 million acres and nearly 2000 miles of canoe routes.  There are no roads within the boundaries of Woodland Caribou and unlike many other popular wilderness parks WCPP has never been logged. Access is by floatplane or by paddling in from road access locations outside the borders of the park. This virtually untouched wilderness area abounds with fish and wildlife and has some of the best-preserved historic pictograph sites in Ontario.

2) For those seeking even greater solitude, we also offer trips into Opasquia Provincial Park, a wilderness area offering a vast 1.5 million acres to discover. Located 185 miles north of Red Lake, it is an area of old growth/fire influenced boreal forest teaming with fish and wildlife, including an exceptionally high concentration of wolverines.  Access to Opasquia is by floatplane only so the possibilities of encountering others are as remote as the park itself.

3) Discover our rivers - white-water gems that flow free and wild: the Bloodvein, a Canadian Heritage River, the Berens and Pigeon.  Free flowing rivers draining into Lake Winnipeg that offer some of the best white water anywhere. Journey down the rarely visited Sachigo, Fawn and Severn Rivers as they cascade toward Hudson Bay and polar bear country. For the die hard Fly Fisherman join us on the Sutton River for the trip of a lifetime angling for trophy Brook Trout that, up until now, you could only dream of.

Our "little" corner of Northwest Ontario is a splendid place for a true wilderness vacation.
Let Goldseekers guide you through our paddler’s paradise
