Woodland Caribou Provincial Park (WCPP)

Trips include air transport between Woodland Caribou Park and Red Lake, meals, all equipment except personal items, permits and qualified guides. Rates are based on 6person minimum. Smaller groups can be accommodated with an additional flight surcharge.  We do our best to honor our listed prices but because our trips are priced out well in advance of the season, from time to time situations beyond our control may result in rate increases.

Spirit Journey
Your adventure begins with a 30-minute floatplane flight from Red Lake. You fly into the far northwest corner of Woodland Caribou Provincial Park to the world famous Artery Lake Pictograph sites. In the following days we view some of the best pictograph sites in North America. Discover why these areas are so significant to our aboriginal peoples.  As we travel through this land we find prairie plant species surviving in a boreal setting and as we pass by a recently burned area you have a chance to study burn ecology first hand, your guide will help reveal secrets of the forest and the subtle beauty that surrounds you.

The Fisherman’s High

WCPP Base Camp Fishing Trip. We’ll fly you and your party, along with a guide, into one of the most beautiful and isolated Walleye Lakes in WCPP. There right from your scenic campsite you can reel in Walleye and Northerns until your arms hurt or…. swim, sunbath, hike or just lounge while our guide takes care of the details. You can afford to do what you want, when you want, no need to worry about breaking camp, paddling, portaging and setting camp again because you have nowhere to go, except possibly to the other side of the lake to try for a trophy of a lifetime And if you think you are going to be roughing it, think again.  In addition to our standard complete outfit gear, we will include a three man tent for every two people, extra thick luxurious therma-rest mats, a complete kitchen pack and we’ll even include a kitchen sink, a two burner propane stove, propane lanterns, comfortable camp chairs and a screened shelter to keep the bugs at bay while you cook and dine.  In addition to shore lunches and fish dinner even your meals will be special with the foods you would not normally consider taking on a canoe trip.

Opasquia Park Paddle
After a three-hour float plane trip deep into the heart of our Northern Boreal Wilderness, we off load the plane and say good-bye to our last physical connection with civilization as the plane flies off into the distance.   From here we paddle and portage the rivers and lakes in one of the wildest places on the continent.  Keep an eye open for the elusive woodland caribou, moose and possibly even a rare wolverine. Listen for the distant howl of the wolf or the haunting cry of the loon, sounds that stir the primitive soul. The portages are so seldom used that moss and lichen still cover most trails.   A fishery of unbelievable quality waits for you to test your skills with trophy northerns and walleye. Signs of the indigenous people of the north are here for the sharp-eyed traveler to see. This is after all, their land that we visit.
